“Wonderful Food!”This was our first time eating here after staying in St thomas many times. It will NOT be the last. One of the best meals I had in two weeks of vacation. Waitress was great and recommended the Capino, red fish stew. It was better than my italian aunt makes( i will not tell her that) Good service. Will highly recommend this place. It isn't cheap, but food was fresh and very good.
“Hidden Gem!”First time having dinner here and it was as good as our friends suggested! The stuffed lobster was devine and you can't leave without a pitcher of the homemade sangria! This hidden gem in downtown is definitely worth searching for.
“Great Meal!”Food, service, and atmosphere was just awesome. Cara's service was first rate. Do not forget the sangrias.
“Amalia Cafe is a Must!”We enjoyed yet another wonderful dinner at Amalia Cafe. The flavor, presentation of the food, and outstanding service leaves nothing to be desired. Cara is the best when it comes to servers. This restaurant should be at the top of your list when in St. Thomas!
“Gracias!”Thank you Cara that girl needs a pay rise, first class service & great food. Just off the main road couple great shops, you need to try the paella deep sauce nice spice and highly recommended. Thank you:)
“Best dinner ever!!”Like other reviews mention... Kara is your girl and she takes great care of you. Sangrias are amazing, try 1/2 white & 1/2 red is optimal. Paella, garlic shrimp, mussels, and blueberry cobbler were to die for. Recommending to all my friends/tourists. It's for special occasions and very romantic.
“Not to be missed if by chance you are in St Thomas!”My wife and I enjoyed a wonderful lunch at Amalia Cafe in St Thomas. Quietly located off Main Road, the beautifully prepared lunch was enhanced by the service provided by our attentive and knowledgeable waitress Cara. I enjoyed a local fish stew in a lightly spiced tomato sauce accompanied by a side of rice, my wife a spinach soup. A carafe of sangria added to the occasion. Our food was freshly cooked and well presented. Importantly, it tasted great. Would I go back...definitely yes. Should you have a meal there....irrefutably yes!
We had dinner at Amalia Cafe last night. I have walked by this cafe for years and never knew what I was missing. The food was excellent all around the table - Zarzuela seafood stew was fantastic, others reported the hake fish and the duck to be wonderful. Our server, Kara, was great and very attentive. Oh, and don't forget the white sangria! We were too stuffed for dessert and may have missed out,but what a great meal.
Read the reviews and decided to try it. All 6 of us loved our food. The mixed seafood dish was a hit as was the shrimp in tomato sauce. And the red sangria recommended by our server was perfect. Can't remember her name but she is from Iowa and was a fantastic professional. Highly recommend this spot.
“Our favorite restaurant in St Thomas”
"We eat here whenever we are in St Thomas 3 or 4 times a year for several years, and we've never been disappointed. The dishes on the standard menu are good, but we've found their specials to be even better. Especially the the pasta of the day. It has never been anything less than excellent and many times it has been superb. The servers are experienced, the owner is friendly, and the atmosphere is charming."

“Just the place we were looking for”
"We were looking for a nice and relaxing meal after going to the beach all morning and early afternoon. We are glad we found Amalia on Tripadvisor. It is conveniently located in downtown Charlotte Amalie down the Palm Passage, near all of the shopping. We sat outside on their cute, well designed patio. The service was prompt, friendly and informative. We both had sandwiches, one steak and one pork - they were really good - cooked perfectly. We will definitely stop in again when in St. Thomas."
“Wonderful romantic dinner”
"On our last night in St. Thomas, we had dinner at Amalia Cafe. What a wonderful local adult romantic dinner. The sangria, dinners and service (Alton) were excellent. We enjoyed the guitar from further down the Palm Passage, (a more lively bar).Note: the gate to the main shopping street is closed at night so enter from the harbor side)."
“Lovely location - attentive staff”
"We have eaten at this cafe for lunch three years in a row on our one day visit to st. thomas as we await a flight home. The service has always been quick and friendly and the food is excellent. Both my wife and I feel that the Calamari is the best we have had in any country in any restaurant - it is a must try - it is lightly battered and cooked perfectly. We will be back next year "
